Does this website evoke any version of emotions out of you?!?
I thought I was so funny when I typed under my Facebook profile under my current “Activities”, “repeating myself many times, repeating myself many times, repeating myself many times.” Well it appears I’m not the only one repeating myself many times…my friends have been too!
About two months ago, my friend and neighbor Jenn told me about www.thegrocerygame.com. I thought, “That’s cool…you go girl…it’s not for me.”
About a month ago, my friend Jen told me about www.thegrocerygame.com. I thought, “That’s odd…same website Jenn told me about – SO awesome I have friends that care to stretch their family dinero.”
Yesterday at the pool, my friend Jen (a different Jen – I guess there weren’t a lot of creative parents when we were born) told me all about this cool website: www.thegrocerygame.com. She went to a class, got a binder and is organizing her coupons and going for it. She said her friend/instructor said that her family of four has a monthly food budget of $150 a MONTH!
That got my attention.
I’m tell ya right now if I can get my family budget down to even $200 a month, I will willingly do, video tape and post to this blog, yours truly doing the running man in any participating www.thegrocerygame.com vendors. I’ll do it. Others won’t want to see it, but I’ll do it.
Then today, my friend Val told me about www.thegrocerygame.com. So after three hours of water logging the kids in the sun at her pool, we ice-popped the weary troops and got to business!

(The Fink boys are just two…yes Val and her husband took seriously God’s command in Genesis 9:7 – “As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”)
She pulled out her binder, pulled out the notes from her class and filled me in on the scoop.
Here are some of the fiscally savvy websites that Val shared with me today:
www.moneysavingmom.com
www.dealseakingmom.com
www.hotcouponworld.com
www.woot.com (One big deal a day – shipped for $5)
www.southersavers.com (NOVA shoppers only)
www.frugalinvirginia.com (NOVA shoppers only)
Could there by something to this whole www.thegrocerygame.com or what? Sisters, can I get a witness?!?!

About time you’ve converted! I’m so excited. If you need any help let me know. I’ve got a ton of baseball card things to file your coupons in if you decide to do a binder system.
Well I am certainly holding up my end of the deal of being thick-headed and all!
After seeing Val’s book, I would REALLY love to check out yours to see if you do anything differently?!?
So my first goal: get the supplies – check!
Second goal: get book put together.
Third goal: get 6 weeks of coupons built up.
Fourth goal: join 30 day free trial.
Fifth goal: become a multi-millionare and with all the money we’ll “save” we will cement the wickedly cracked high rises that we happen to call our sidewalks!
Stef,
Glad we can venture this new world of couponing together!! I guess I have gone ultra cheap, because I went to an el cheapo salon to get some highlights. The lady said she would cut me a deal and do it for ONLY $80! I about fell out of my seat. Tonight I went to Sally’s and spent $10, watched a utube video on how to highlight hair, and enlisted the help of my poor unsuspecting husband. Yes – I made him do the foils. We did 8 highlights (I did my best to help him), and they really do not look that bad!!!!! I was afraid to do too many in case we really screwed up. Tomorrow night we will do some more. Maybe next time you come over we can have a highlighting party. I don’t blame you if you don’t want me to do yours, but I would love help on mine. Mike doesn’t seem too thrilled about his new title of hair colorist. I told him it is just like painting – no biggie. I will post some pics on facebook soon. Had a great day with you. I want to see that coupon book soon!
I’m SO psyched thanks for showing me “the ropes”! I’ve found NO inexpensive hair salons in NOVA. I color myself and my haircut (Connie in South Riding Great Clips is my FAV, been going to her for 2 years now) is $20 (with tip). You know I cut my guys hair so we save money there and I’m REALLY interested to see if this whole this really works!
Which made me think of an old story…remember when I “showed” you how I cut the guys hair on our deck a couple of years ago? Remember you cut Mike’s hair? I’m just glad Mike still talks to me! If you want me to help color – I’ll do it (IF you trust me that much!)!
Okay, I got my supplies, now after vacation, I’ll get organized and get my 6 weeks of coupons built up…and I’m ready to roll! I hope to show you my organized collection soon!
Tell Lindsay to keep training, I’ll be practicing my back stroke and I’ll be going for gold next race!
Hey don’t forget http://www.spoofee.com (great for electronics, restaurant coupons, and online deals!!!) Now I have to check out http://www.thegrocerygame.com (Anything to save a buck on my shopping!!!)
SWE-ET!!! THANKS Ker! Love ya!
