Here in Nothern Virginia we’ve been blasted with a blizzard…at least 24 inches of snow.
On Thursday, they announced school was closed Friday.
On Friday, it snowed like nobody’s business. The Fink Fam hibernated.

On Saturday, they announced that church was closed Sunday. Also, school would be closed Monday and Tuesday the following week. The Fink Fam shoveled….and shoveled.
Did I mention we shoveled?
On Sunday, we had some church up in here…
Yup, in our jammies, we had some great “church” up in here…
And now, we’re going out to have some “church” up out there. In the snow. To see who we can bless with our shovels. First hit, the elderly couple on the corner.
The church isn’t a building, it’s the people. Sometimes they are housed IN the building of the church, and other times…not so much.
Most of us have been to church, many times. Let’s BE the church. The hands and feet of Christ…that’s the church.

I am also blessed with neighbors who every time it snows comes and does my drive. Like me I am sure your elderly neighbors say a heart felt “Thank you God for my good neighbors” You are right. Being in church does not always mean being in a building. We all carry our own church with us.
Right on cuz! And, I LOVE that you have such amazing neighbors as you’re SO thoughtful and loving! Your b.day card to Cal was PERFECT!!!! THANKS Mer!!!
Amen to that. I think I’ve heard that thing about the church being the body and not the building..but i’m not sure where I heard that hmmmmm.
….those pictures are awesome
loave ya girl

I know next snow storm in AZ, you’ll be the first out… (as if the white stuff happens there!)
LOVE YOU!
I already did the end couple yesterday
Hey stud-muffin…Jim (we met him yesterday) was SO touched that his driveway was cleared – he though Joan did it. We talked and laughted with him as we cleared out what the plow blocked the end of his driveway with, then he walked over to Cheryl’s place to help her with us! We have the coolest hood!
My husband dug out his car yesterday to drive 25 miles to the Goodwin House in Arlington to give out communion to the bed ridden after they did a service for those who can walk to the chapel. He made it on snow covered and bumpy roads in about 30 minutes, no one was out there he said early this morning. Good thing the HOA cleared our streets or he would not have gotten to the highway. Have fun out there, we are sharing our shovels and helping neighbors too. Matt is on the hill now behind our house with a load of kids!
WOW. That right there – the hands and feet of Christ….what a BEAUTIFUL example of faith in action.
Steph you encourage me constantly. Last I heard we got 30 inches in Ashburn!
Thanks girl!
Dave said the final count in Dulles was 32 inches – can ya stand it?!?! With a “sprinkling” of 6 more inches this Wed.! SO glad you all have electricity again!
ain’t that the truth?! you and Dave are an inspiration! bundle up warmly before going to bless your neighborhood!
Thanks my sister! We’ve both seen the hypocrisy…but can be a part of hopefully changing it up! And, WHEN did ya ever think VA would be getting more snow than NJ?!?
