I type to you today with butterflies in my stomach and a nervous anticipation. God is doing something new in me and the Fink Fam.
I’m excited.
Nervous.
And a tad sweaty…. (You know full well that TMI’s kinda “my thing”.) 
I have my hair poofed as big as I possibly can get it…cause today’s no ordinary day. Today I’m going for a job inquiry at Weight Watchers for the position of Meeting Leader. It’s been only ohhhhhhhh, the better part of an entire decade since I went to any version of a job interview…and I’m dusty. (Well, not really, cause my former military training kicked in and I lint brushed my outfit.) 
I’m not applying and considering this job opportunity for financial reasons. I truly hope that sounds the “right way”. Getting paid for my work would be lovely…truly lovely, but we don’t need my income to live on and I am fully present and aware of what a blessing that is. By typing this, I boast about how AWESOME God is for doing a miraculous work in our finances, not in how awesome we are.
I am applying for this job for two reasons: to stay “sober” in my eating addiction recovery and to use the primary gift that God’s given me, encouragement.
I feel alive encouraging others!
Tons of thoughts ping pong through my head on any given day, in any given moment – but today the, “pongs of the pings” are different…
How will this effect my family life?
Will I be able to keep balance?
Is this what God truly desires?
Is this the best decision for me and my family?
Is my hair big enough? (He, he…)
This and, I’m soooooooooooo excited to report that I have two upcoming speaking engagements this fall!
I don’t exactly “see” where my life, our life, is going right now…and all the more reason why I need to keep steppin’ with God. Faith is when you step out when you can’t really see.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
I’d really appreciate your prayers for confirmation of God’s direction and I want to ask you today, what’s an area that God’s asking you to step out in faith?

Wow, that is exciting and big news! If it works for your family, around the boys schedules and all that stuff that I know matters to you, then go for it! I know when I went back to teaching when we arrived here, I made little money (still a fact) but it worked and I loved it and it has made being here in this huge overpopulated area kinder and nicer for me. I feel like I work in a small town, and I bet you will too! (went to starbucks and saw two school families within 5 minutes yesterday!) Let us know how it works out! Way to go! Now my next step is as a Pastor’s wife, not sure what that mean, but I have a couple years to define that before it becomes official. That will be way out of my comfort zone!
