Stephanie- Thoughts on success? First of all - just plain old trying with disipline and perserverance. Big difference between thinking about doing something and actually doing it. This is what I call action planning - in action! With such perservernance, there can be no failure since one is actually do-ing- not just thinking about do-ing! Anyone trying to write and just thinking about it, knows the enormous feeling of success when the words are finally penned down.! What a delight to visit with you again and get a reality check-in! Nothing like an endless conversation filled with fun, laughter, warmth and hugs! Sort of like a full up urn of coffee that keeps on flowing... :) Keep on writing, and continue to bloom as you are planted. Look forward to your continued words and see you speak in action one day soon! Namaste. Ellen

Great post as always Steph! I think this quote goes well in regards to perseverance: “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.”

BTW. . . Did you know he lives in Charlottesville? We used to live there, and once he was behind me in line at a well known chocolatier shop. He's super nice, down to earth, generous, and quite handsome!

STEPH and others!!!! HELLO. You are not worth .99 cents. A taco from taco bell is worth .99 cents. Seriously if you ever need a boost CALL ME and I will REMIND YOU that you are the shizzle dizzle foshizzle. Good post though.

One time I had this really bad break up. THEN my best friend, who held me (literally) as I was crying after the break up, started dating THAT same ex 6 months after we broke up. Talk about de-valued...friendship devalued, trust devalued. BUT...in hindsight I was NOT focused on God. I did NOT rely on God at any point during or AFTER the relationship. So even though it was really mean and awful for awhile it was just God forcing me to find Him. And to remain focused on Him. WHICH IS REALLY HARD TO DO!!! So i pray and ask for forgiveness and call you to hold me accountable. love you steph. another GREAT POST!!

Yo Steph! Good post. That story was told by...Clayton, Steven or Andy? I've watched so many sermon series in the past 3 weeks I can't keep who said was straight. Thank you for pulling that story to talk about. I wonder if successful people took No for an answer. Sometimes I want to tell my boss No. haha but I wonder if I can climb "the ladder" by telling people No and forging my own path. Learning when to sit down and shut up and when to say No is REALLY HARD! I'm sure there is a Bible verse to help me with this problem :P It is also hard when my favorite motto is "Well behaved women rarely make history." So I'm conflicted. I'm going to make history by staying single for a year and tithing for a year because THAT IS DIFFERENT! love you steph. you rock and you are going to be famous for God one day! And even if you're not (but you will be because you are cool) you have changed a life :)

Wow - I didn't know that about his first book. Interesting. I love stories of perseverence.

I love the non-fiction book by Grisham called The Innocent Man. It was really gripping and read almost like his fictional stories.

I really, REALLY appreciate you writing this. Deep pain takes time to release and re-release and re-re-release. I am SO sorry you were hurt so deeply and prayed that while your friend hurt/betrayed you, that you continue trusting others and most importantly, God. And, in the right time/moment that you share your pain for God's GAIN. I'm grateful we have a God that does not forsake or leave us even in our darkest moments.

O LORD, do not forsake me; be not far from me, O my God. Psalm 38:21
